This is my first ever Blogging experience, I'm a total newbie to this way of communication with my audience. I began drawing at the age of 10. Two of my earliest drawings in pencil was of a church behind my home in Calgary, Alberta Canada. The other was the church that I could see from my house as well. I took art classes in high school and began to study art at the University of Victoria. Unfortunately, the classes did not really fit my style of learning. I quit after one year for that reason and also as I got married at the ripe age of 19. Funnily enough when we applied for the marriage license, I was referred to as a spinster. I was highly insulted at this!
My former husband was in the military and as a result we were posted all over Canada. Our first posting was to Inuvik, NWT. In each of our postings, I've always drawn animals that were in our various locations. I painted this caribou fawn while in Inuvik among many others. Birds, animals and nature are always my inspiration.
I am now married to a wonderful man, Richard. Together we have four children and two grandchildren. They are grammy and papa's little beauties, not that we are prejudiced.
I have many more stories to share and will include lots of information about my process as an artist along the way.
